Who We Are
Wicked Good Cards™ is a Maine-based 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to providing free access to handmade greeting cards within nonprofit care and community organizations in Southern Maine. EIN: 33-4871340.
What We Do
We accept handmade greeting cards donated by artists and crafters and deliver them free of charge to our Wicked Good Partners, nonprofit care and community organizations including hospitals, hospice centers, residential programs, shelters, and other organizations serving people throughout Southern Maine.
Once delivered, cards are placed where people within those communities can choose one at no cost. Cards are available to patients, residents, family members, caregivers, volunteers, staff, and others within the community.
Every card comes with an envelope, ready for someone to choose, write in, and give.
Why We Do It
The Power of Giving: Choosing a greeting card gives someone a way to act on the impulse to connect. It offers a chance to think about another person, choose something especially for them, and add their own words. That simple act creates agency and a meaningful way to participate in someone else’s life.
The Joy of Receiving: Receiving a card can turn an ordinary moment into a memorable one. Seeing your name on an envelope, discovering the artwork, and reading a message chosen for you creates a moment of recognition and connection. It says, in a very tangible way, someone was thinking about you.
Why Handmade Matters
The Difference of Handmade: A handmade card brings art and beauty to an everyday act of connection. No two handmade cards are exactly alike. Small variations in the cutting, layering, placement, and details are part of what makes each card distinctly human.
Messages That Matter: We believe the most important part of a greeting card is the message inside. Every donated card is blank inside, giving people space for their own words.
Where We Make an Impact
Rooted in Maine: Wicked Good Cards is proudly based in Saco, Maine, where our mission began. Our current focus is Southern Maine, with plans to expand our reach responsibly over time.
Our cards have been delivered to Hospice of Southern Maine, Affinity Care of Maine, and Dempsey Center.
How We Track Our Giving
The Giving Gallery documents all handmade cards donated to Wicked Good Cards and those we deliver to our Wicked Good Partners. The gallery is our public record of card donations and deliveries.
